The four simple principles DBT is based on include mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and regulation of emotions. Over the years, DBT had saved the lives of countless people fighting depression and suicidal thoughts, but Linehan had never revealed that her pioneering work was inspired by her own desperate struggles as a young woman. Only when she received this question did she finally decide to tell her story.

However, there are limited resources for psychologists seeking to use DBT skills with individual clients. In the tradition of ACT Made Simple, DBT Made Simple provides clinicians with everything they need to know to start using DBT in the therapy room.

Anger, fear, frustrations, and all other emotions are part of the human experience. They can make you happy, or they can lead to stress. However, these emotions can be healthy when you experience them as well because they give you lessons to live better. Negative thinking is designed to make people feel uncomfortable. It creates stress in your body and mind, which is not only distressing but can also lead to health issues that can be chronic. No one wants to feel the stress that comes with negative thoughts, so it is better to escape from them.

Interesting subject. Good narration.
This audiobook discusses treatments and facing PTSD, ADHD, anxiety, stress, fears, panic attacks, and intrusive thoughts.
Bravo to the author for the courage to write from his personal experience as this makes it more direct and engaging.
Combining the practical exercises of the book along with the consultancy and assistance of a specialist,
the results hopefully will be effective and promising.

I’ve seen changes
Not only me, but my family have seen the changes in my panic attacks. I still get them every now and then, but, they simply aren’t as frequent, which makes a big difference. If it works for me, I bet it’ll work for you as well. A great purchase on my end.

Very Practical Solutions
This book is thoroughly planned out and taught. Many workbooks have these astronomical expectations that no one can ever keep for longer than 2 weeks. This book offers insight and practical solutions to defeat your struggles. The section on boundaries is so good!

Worth every minute!
I attempted the exercises taught in this audiobook and saw a huge decrease in my emotional state. The 12-week plan will be put into action starting next week. I found this listen to be very motivating and informative when it comes to the topics of fear and stress. I already recommended this book to two of my close friends.

Explanatory and Easy to Follow
It is so important not to stigmatize diagnosis and medications, as well as to understand how much control over our chaos we have. Listening to the author share personal experiences is selfless to provide context to this practical work. I have listened to this book several times because it makes me feel more compassion for myself by giving me techniques to quiet what needs to be quited. Radical Acceptance is another very necessary piece for me to feel peace.
